3. Is it certified organic?

Products that are certified organic are better because it means better agricultural practices and ingredients. Think minimal pesticide use. This is better for us and for the planet too.

4. Is it vegan?

6. Palm oil-free?

Right now, the palm oil industry is pretty bad for many of the people involved in making it and for the environment. We try to steer clear of it wherever possible. There are certifications to help with this too but it is pretty difficult to track the origins of palm oil at this stage.

7. Are the ingredients sustainably sourced?

This is especially important for things like mica (typically found in powder makeup) which can involve unethical labor practices and unsustainable production methods. We look for brands who omit it entirely or can speak to its origins, wherever possible.

8. Does the company use environmentally-conscious packaging?

Packaging is also super important. We look for brands that offer products that come in compostable, zero-waste, recyclable, and/or reusable containers like some of our favorite blue beauty brands.

9. Is it inclusive?

Eco friendly cosmetics, like clothing and other essentials, should be available to people of different complexions and skin types. We make sure to take note of this too. Brands that offer affordable natural makeup options also get major props.

Manduka | sustainable yoga mat brand

Manduka sells eco-friendly yoga mats and other yoga gear made with the most sustainable materials. They focus on sustainability in all aspects of their business, from the materials they use to the way they create their products.

This eco-friendly brands makes their products out of plant-based materials, recycled-polyester and organic cotton. Manduka also have a yoga mat recycling program. When you buy one of their yoga mats, they’ll provide you with a label that you can use to send back your old one, no matter the brand of the mat.

Brands that have recycling programs to recycle items that are usually just thrown in the garbage is a really awesome thing to do for the planet.

I’m not gonna lie. I don’t taste the difference.Despite drinking between 5 and 10 cups of tea every day, I’m not able to taste the difference. Well, I’ve seen a lot of people claim this online.And the people who claim that are the same people selling tea. So I’m not really surprised that they also want to go into the “weight loss market” with their products. It’s so easy to say that food and drinks that do not contain too much sugar/fat helps you to downsize.It’s not entirely false. If you do keep away from fat and sugar, you’re doing alright. Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen is a water resistant oil based sunblock that contains both green tea antioxidants and aloe vera, which means it could protect and sooth your skin. With an SPF of 45, it’s recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation and also contains 100% vegetarian ingredients.

While it doesn’t boast much in the way of underwater protection, users’ claim the product itself is biodegradable and rubs in well, which means it could protect us and the beautiful reefs we explore.
